In the quiet village of Stratton St Michael, we’ll visit the parish where John Meriwether served as rector in the early 1600s, offering insight into the family’s roots in England’s religious and community life. Nearby, we’ll explore connections to Nicholas Meriwether, believed to have been baptized in the Walsingham area before eventually emigrating to Virginia. These stops, rich in genealogical and historical significance, offer a rare glimpse into the early chapters of a family whose legacy would stretch across the Atlantic.
